Louisville Regional

Miami had an impressive showing at the Louisville regional during the weekend of Feb 19-21. Both teams in competition received bids to the Opening Round Championship Series.

994 secured their bid after only the third round, being the only undefeated team at the tournament. They played MTSU, Tennessee, Rhodes and Murray State, winning all rounds by a combined 124 points. Scott Lippert and Alycia Walker won attorney awards, while Ian Ferrell won an outstanding witness award.

995 placed fourth in the tournament, higher than both of the Bellarmine teams they faced. This is an astonishing accomplishment, as the team consists entirely of new recruits from the fall. 995 secured the bid by beating a 2-4 Butler University on Sunday morning's fourth round. Earlier in the competition, they split with both Bellarmine teams while on prosecution and destroyed Murray State while on defense. They ended the tournament with a 6-2 record.

Because teams can only advance two teams to the Open Round Championship Series, Miami's 993 and 992 won't be facing pressure in the Cincinnati regional.
