Miami Mock Trial walks home proud after a perfect weekend finish. Both 993 and 992 finished 8-0 at the Cincinnati Regional Tournament on Feb 27-28.
Gus Lazares received a perfect 20 ranks on prosecution, and 18 on the defense side of the case earning him attorney awards on both sides of the case.
Emily Homel was ranked first on all 992's prosecution ballots and received an outstanding attorney award.
Mike Woeste, a freshman, received 18 ranks for playing Alex Grace on defense and earned an outstanding witness award.
992 played Carnegie Melon, the University of Cincinnati, Kenyon College, and Washington & Jefferson.
993 played the University of Cincinnati, Manchester College, Ohio State University, and Elon University.
This regional finish means that ALL Miami teams earned a bid to the first round of Nationals. Only two teams may move on, however, and the extra earned bids will be put into AMTA's open bid system. This first place finish marks the 12th consecutive first place finish for Miami at the Cincinnati Regional.
